stress me NOT!♥Reduce Stress Part I

Rule # 1: Avoid Unnecessary Stress
Learn how to say “no” –
Know your limits and stick to them. Whether in your personal or professional life, refuse to accept added responsibilities when you’re close to reaching them. Taking on more than you can handle is a surefire recipe for stress.
Avoid people who stress you out – If someone consistently causes stress in your life and you can’t turn the relationship around, limit the amount of time you spend with that person or end the relationship entirely.
Take control of your environment –
If the evening news makes you anxious, turn the TV off. If traffic’s got you tense, take a longer but less-traveled route. If going to the market is an unpleasant chore have a friend go with you.
Avoid hot-button topics – If you get upset over religion or politics, cross them off your conversation list. If you repeatedly argue about the same subject with the same people, stop bringing it up or excuse yourself when it’s the topic of discussion.
Pare down your to-do list –
Analyze your schedule, responsibilities, and daily tasks. If you’ve got too much on your plate, distinguish between the “shoulds” and the “musts.” Drop tasks that aren’t truly necessary to the bottom of the list or eliminate them entirely.

UNHEALTHY WAYS TO DEAL WITH STRESS!
These coping strategies may temporarily reduce stress, but they cause more damage in the long run:

-Smoking
-Drinking too much
-Overeating or undereating
-Zoning out for hours in front of the TV or computer
-Withdrawing from friends, family, and
activities
-Using pills or drugs to relax
-Sleeping too much
-Procrastinating
-Filling up every minute of the day
to avoid facing problems
-Taking out your stress on others (lashing out,
angry outbursts, physical violence)

Spring HAIR UPDATE!♥

Hola Sweeties! Just wanted to give a quick hair update. My hair is progressing well!! At this rate I will definitely be BSL (bra-strap length) and BEYOND by October which marks my 1 year Haircare Journey! I've changed ALOT of things that I was doing. I believe that growing relaxed African-American hair definitely takes excellent care and dedication. We MUST keep our hair moisturized, strong, and protected from the harms of excess heat, over manipulation, and split ends. I've already recruited my Mom, Sisters, and BFF! lol.
Anyways, I am just about BSL, I had made it there length wise but my ends had to go! So I allowed my stylist to trim them. I will stretch my relaxer until the end of July which will equate to about 14 weeks. This should be easy since my Boyfriend will be in basic training for the summer ( yes I am A lol :). Him being gone means I can keep the hair super protected in buns and half wigs (freetress Milano girl, just 20$ & Its super cute). Mine as well work on my masterpiece and protect it from the public eye until the big reveal in October :).My hair is also THICKER! yaay. It had thinned out from bad care, but as my stylist was screaming when she was washing my hair in her Ethiopian accent "It's Coming Back!!!)
Things I LOVE that are helping me to reach my hair goals:
Jamaican Black Castor oil- Use it on my scalp & hair
GNC Nourish Hair Vitamins- speeds up growth!
Co-Washing- keeps my hair moisturized and smelling lovely
Half Wigs- Quick, easy, and cute protective style. (youtube it :)
Braid outs- Gives me that exotic look I love, plus no heat!
Deep conditioning once a week- keeps the hair soft & strong
My Shower comb- Not a break in sight! love this comb♥
I eliminated:
roller-setting once a week- only do it for a special occasions now.
sulfate shampoos- to bad for the hair! I don't like shampoo period, I make my own.
wearing hair out ALL the time- gotta protect it.
I don't own a flat iron or curling iron....I'm so glad I never got hooked on those, I heard it's pretty hard to ween yourself off! lol
WELL THAT'S IT FOR NOW! HAPPY-HAIR-GROWING AND KEEP IT HEALTHY! KISSES

Some of The BEST Words Ever Spoken♥

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most. We ask ourselves,'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and
famous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the
glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in all of us. And
when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are LIBERATED from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

~Used by Nelson Mandela in his 1994 inaugural speech

Beautiful Girl

"Beauty?? Let me tell you something - Being thought of as 'A Beautiful Woman' has spared me nothing in life. No heartache, no trouble. Love has been difficult. Outer Beauty is essentially meaningless and it is always transitory."
~Halle Berry

"I always loved the attention of being that "Beautiful Girl"....now I realize all the harm that comes with it, in this not so Beautiful world.
I've kissed many guys, fell in Love hundreds of times....had enough boy meets girl experiences to create a million rhymes. Some of them were cute, some straight up fine....some that didn't last, some out there still wishing they were mine.
Sometimes I wouldn't change a thing, other times, I would change it all......at least now I have a story to tell, that Beautiful Girls too often are prone to fall.....and it takes our strength, not our looks to brush the dirt off, and stand back up Tall.♥ "

RUDE AWAKENINGS.....

You wake up one morning and there are huge fat rolls around your stomach and on your back. Your thighs seem to be rubbing and your sweaty and panting just from jumping up and running to the bathroom!
This could be one bad dream if you just: Do your cardio exercises at least 3 times a week and cut back on fattening foods! I know its not the easiest thing to get into, but once you get past the first week it will be a breeze :) You will start to feel and see a difference in your Body and attitude. Your confidence level will raise because your not only looking better but your HEALTHIER. Run, Bike, Elipital pick your passion and rock it out.

You wake up one morning and your skin feels like rough sand paper. You see little hair bumps on your bikini line and even though the sun is shining on you there is no glisten or shine.
You frown :(
This could be one bad dream if you just: Exfoliate & Moisturize! Our skin should mean more than a $200 dress or some expensive shoes! Clothes come off but (hopefully) your skin doesn't. Exfoliate with a nice scrub at least 2 times a week and pic a great moisturizer to keep your skin soft and glowing.

You wake up one morning and your heart aches from the pain of betrayal. Shoulda, coulda, woulda's rush through your mind like cars on the highway. A tear rolls down your cheek and you wish it could all be one bad dream....
Guess What...It can be: Just pay attention to the WARNING SIGNS! We all get them. No one is immune to pain, yet and still choose your battles wisely and learn from your mistakes as well as the mistakes of others. Surround yourself with good people. Know when to let a loser guy go or when to kick a fake friend to the curb. Don't ignore the signs then wake up one morning feeling like you've been in a huge crash. Don't be "That Guy"..(lol I always wanted to say that). Anyway, just stay on top of your game, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

Peace & Kisses

4. He effortlessly compliments you.
5. He remembers your Birthday! and all special occasions.
6. You've met his family and friends.
7. He's taken you on a date which soon becomes dates.
8. He asks "What's Wrong" if your acting upset.
9. He leaves you a voicemail every now and then when you don't pick-up
10. He's Protective or shows some signs of it.
11. He shows interest in your life, family, career and daily activities. for example "How was your day today?" "How's the Family?"
12. He looks at you and smiles.
13. He won't allow people to talk bad about you.

Break Free :) ♥

I started co-washing last week with Herbal Essence Reconditioning Conditioner/ Aussie Moist conditioner and I also purchase a Jilbere Shower comb from Sally's Beauty supply. I co-washed and used my shower comb to detangle and guess what??? NO BREAKAGE!!! All last week I felt relieved to finally "Get it".
MOISTURE/CONDITIONING + JILBERE SHOWER COMB + HE LTR LEAVE-IN + AIR DRYING UNDER SATIN SCARF WITH HANGING HAIR IN 1-2
MOISTURIZED TWIST = NO BREAKAGE FOR ME.
BYE GEORGE, I'VE GOT IT!
Breakage is a major issue when growing relaxed hair. Some of the cures are in fact Moisture and Low Manipulation. I use to be OBSESSED with only using Coconut Oil for moisturizing ( Nicoconut) Yep, that was my nickname lol. Now I realized the importance of incorporating water based moisturizers as well to keep those strands healthy & moist!
I wish everyone continued success with their Hair Care Journey's! Hair Pics Coming in May!
Some FAVS!!!
To name a few....Kisses!

How's Ur PillowCase Treating Ur Face?♥

Artical Provided By:AcneMyths.com
Are those Pillowcases Making Your Skin Issues WORST???
You’re very diligent about your skin care routine and you cleanse your skin properly each and every night, so you just can’t understand why you wake up in the morning and your acne looks worse than it did the night before. Believe it or not, your pillow may be to blame.
What Lurks Beneath You
Each and every night, you lay your head down on your pillow and go to sleep. If you’re like most people, at least some part of your face touches your pillow during the night. Whether you like to think about it or not, it’s a basic fact that your pillowcase has bacteria, dust and other acne-causing agents on it. If you want to prevent this stuff from getting into your pores, clogging them up and causing pimples, you need to wash your pillowcases regularly.
Nikki Note: Wash your pillowcase about once a week and watch your skin began to look healthier! Go the extra mile and get a Satin pillowcase like I did....Luvs it!!
