Being Better

I was put on this earth with a purpose, and though I'm still finding out what that is, I know that part of it is to Help and Inspire Others; if not with my words, at least with my Actions.

I will strive to be my best, for myself and everyone that graces my presence.

Growing My African American Hair....AGAIN!

A little over a year ago I reached my goal of thick, mid-back relaxed hair. I was sooooooo HAPPY and after receiving numerous compliments from family and strangers I was even more convinced that I had done something Great! Growing relaxed African American Hair is a challenge. My hair type of fine 4a hair tends to be dry and breaks easily. Moisturizing weekly, trimming away split ends, avoiding all heat, and wearing protective styles got me to my goal but it was not without a few set-backs and even tears! I remember a time where I over-did-it with some protein products and BAM, it was breakage city. It took over a year for me to get to my goal but it was well worth the wait.
Fast forward to today, after moving into my first home, getting married, going on a honeymoon, working hard for a promotion at work, and flat out being LAZY, I noticed that I am far from where I started 4 years ago. I blame myself for getting "too comfortable" with having long hair. Forgetting to wrap it when I laid down, not deep conditioning for weeks, throwing it in a messy bun for days without moisturizing... and on top of all that, I had the nerve to flat iron my hair 3 weekends in a row! Today I thoroughly examined my hair and noticed split ends everywhere. My once thick, mid-back hair is now a thinner, uneven bra-strap length. I haven't gotten a relaxer in 8 months so my hair is very fragile and breaks easily due to the two different textures which adds fuel to the fire.
Well, I say all this to further "reality check" myself and to get back on the right track once and for all. I want my long, healthy, beautiful, black hair back! I know its going to take time, but I am fully prepared and I plan to blog along the way.... Below is my goal pic, which a pic of my hair a couple years ago.

I LOVE being unique. I think, feel, and act Different than the average person and I like that. I rather stand alone than in a crowd and I rather speak my mind than to remain quiet. I rather cry than hold back tears and I always choose to laugh, even if no one else is.

I will never be perfect, and that's what makes me so Great.....

Think of the prettiest person you don't know and realize that yes...they have insecurities too. We all do at one point or another! The same person that can feel confident and cocky one day, can feel insecure and self-conscious on another...it's all apart of living life.
Its true that some have more insecurities than others and Women more so than Men...but at the end of the day it all comes down to accepting and loving who and what you are.
Love who you are and if you don't like something work positively to Change it....and if you can't change it EMBRACE it :)
Don't even pay attention to others and what they have, what they look like, what they talk like, or how Confident they are being because.......

If its one thing anyone that knows me can vouch for it's that I LOVE ME :). I'm not perfect, I make mistakes But I'm ME....and I smile at just the thought of it :)
Here are 8 tips to help you feel more Confident!
♥ Read and listen to inspirational things like your Bible, Positive Blogs, Uplifting books and Music.
♥ Began working toward your goals. We are all a work in progress, so enjoy the journey.
♥ Get rid of/ignore/avoid negative people, jealous people, fake friends, and a bad relationship. I have NO room in my life for negative people or things and nor should you.
♥ Always try to look your best. When you look good you feel good.
♥ STOP paying attention to those who give you a bad feeling about yourself. If you ever wished that you looked or acted like someone else..STOP, no one is perfect.
♥ Do things to make others happy, you will feel better about yourself for it.
♥ Write down or say all the things you like about yourself or that you want to accomplish and get motivated!
♥ Remember that Beauty starts within and that "Sexy" and "Confidence" is an ATTITUDE, not a physical attribute.

It took me 26yrs to get to a point where I feel as though I'M TRULY READY....I had so many things to experience that had to make me stronger first. I had LESSONS to LEARN and different personalities to meet. I had mistakes to make so I could figure out solutions. I had falls to take so I could learn how to always get up! It took me longer but I'm going to use that to My Advantage so never feel like its too late to hop on this path and go forth with a Vengeance :).

NOTHING or NO ONE will stand in our way. Success is a climb Upward so we will sweat and it may get tough....but ANYTHING WORTH HAVING IS WORTH FIGHTING FOR!

I am now armoured up and ready to accomplish everything my passionate beating heart desires. NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST ME SHALL PROSPER. I am a WOMAN with a GOAL and I make the rules.

I Want To Be BEAUTIFUL!!!

Who doesn't want to be BEAUTIFUL?! I couldn't imagine why any normal person wouldn't want to feel and look Beautiful. It's true that Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder.....so when you look into the mirror and behold your reflection do you See Beauty? Do you feel It?

If the answer is No to either one of those questions, let me share a secret with you.

♥Beauty starts in your mind- We all look different. Some are considered beautiful by MANY, some only by a Few..but guess what? It only truly matters what YOU think about yourself. You can only be you...So Love yourself and realize the full potential of your beauty by cherishing it, nourishing it, and protecting it!

♥Cherish your Beauty by- Loving your eyes, your nose, your lips, your cheeks, your body, and so on. There is nothing wrong with being different. Your are blessed, so simply look at yourself and smile. Smile because of the beauty and good within you that exudes outward.
